The Columbus Cardinals cross country team had both a Cardinal and a Lady Cardinal compete earlier this week at the Regional Meet in Corpus Christi. Both runners finished within the top 100 of their respective races but unfortunately did not qualify for the State Meet. Kaylea Foster was the lone Lady Cardinal at the Regional Meet, and she came in 86th place with a time of 14 minutes and 28 seconds. Then Christian Martinez, the lone Cardinal at the Regional Meet, came in 70th place with a time of 19 minutes and 12 seconds. It was a great season of runners for Columbus’ cross country team, and even though they missed out on the State Meet this season, they have plenty of room to grow and plenty of momentum to build off, heading into the next season.
