The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum (PLCTM) is hosting the third annual “Donor Appreciation Dance” on Sunday, Nov. 9 from 2-6 p.m. All Polka Dance Enthusiasts; or wanna be’s, are invited to join in on the fun as there will be plenty of happy music for happy people.
The Donor Appreciation event is in honor of individuals, families, businesses, organizations, grant providers, and public officials who have been instrumental in the Museum’s success. It is a celebration for which we invite the public to attend.
This dance will be held at the Fairgrounds Pavillion beginning at 2 p.m. with dance instructions led by Louis Stewart from the Mollie B Polka Party, assisted by additional talented dancers.
The happy music will be performed by The Lavaka County Line. A great opportunity for your listening, enjoyment and dancing pleasure.
The main attraction will be dance instructions for all ages beginning at 2 pm. Dancing in full force will take off at 3 PM. Snacks and beverages wll be available throughout the event. A short program will take place during the band’s break.
A fun portion of the event will be raffles including a Lifetime Membership to the Museum, a 50/25/25 Drawing and more.
Event organizers are requesting attendees to bring non-parishable food item(s), toiletries and children’s toy(s) to be distributed to locally sponsored holiday programs.
Reservations are not necessary. Admission is $10 per person for the general public. There is no charge for children under twelve. Complimentary for all PLCTM members.
The PLCTM opened in La Grange in 2006 with a mission to provide a facility for preserving, promoting and educationg Polka Music and Dance. Featured exhibits include The Hoelscher Haus, The Hoelscher Family, Po.L.K. of A., Msg. Father Hybner, wellknown bands, donor recognitions, photo displays, videos, instruments, and an extensive library of music and records dating back to the early 1900s.
