VIEWPOINT OF A TEXAS CHALLENGE ACADEMY CADET
My name is Gunter Lampe, and I would like to share with you how Texas ChalleNGe Academy has helped me. Before I do; however, you have to know why I came here in the first place.
My life started in Russia. I never knew my real parents, and I was adopted when I was five. When I was younger, I had a lot of anger issues. I also lied and stole things. My parents sent me to my first boarding school where I learned a lot, but not enough. After two and a half years, I went home and attended a public school.
Unfortunately, it was at this time that I really had problems. I started smoking and drinking. I have greened out twice when smoking weed and almost died when I fell down the stairs backwards That is when my parents sent me here. At first, I didn’t like TCA and hated that my parents sent me away. But over the past few months, the staff and teachers have helped me learn to get back on the right track. They have taught me to love others and myself.
I want to especially thank TL Fields, CS Vela, and my case manager, Miss Williams. They have helped me sort things out and get back to God. They have helped me sort out my goals for the future.
Now that we are close to being complete, I want to graduate and then join the military. I now thank God that my parents loved me enough to send me here. I am ready to get my life back and look forward to my future.
