Before the Weimar Ladycats season came to an end in the Area Championship, there were two Ladycats that reached big career milestones.
The first was team captain Janiyah Cooper and the second was Madison Luckey, both of these ladies are a major part of the Ladycats success and earn their way into the history books.
Cooper was the first to reach her milestone and she recorded her 1,100th career kill in the Bi-District round. Cooper is truly an unstoppable force on offense as she hits the ball with so much power.
The ball comes off her hand so loud sometimes it sounds like someone set off a firework in the gym. Not many people want to get in front of one of her spikes, but even if someone does, Copper is so smart on the court that she still finds ways to score.
To be able to record 1,100 kills requires a lot of volleyball IQ and for those who have seen Cooper play they know just how smart and savvy she can be.

Madison Luckey reached the 1,500 career assists mark in the Area Round of the playoffs.
Newxt was Madison Luckey, and she recorded her 1,500th assist in the Area Championship game against Burton. Speaking of high volleyball IQ, the setters are some of the smartest players on the court.
Not only do they have to time their passes just right for their outside hitters, but they have to be able to anticipate the play perfectly. Imagine having to track the ball while making sure you are in a good spot both defensively and offensively on the court, then when they ball comes to you, you have to make a perfect set up pass for the outside hitter or the timing of the play is off and a scoring opportunity is missed. Now do that 1,500 times and that is what Madison Luckey has accomplished in her career as a Ladycat.
So, while the season may have ended earlier than they wanted, the Ladycats still accomplished a lot of things and can hang their hat on a really strong 2025 season.
