The Weimar Wildcats hosted the Kenedy Lions for their final home game of the 2025 season.
After having a really strong first half, the Wildcats struggled to get anything going offensively in the second half, and it resulted in a 4114 loss.
The game started with the Wildcats scoring the only touchdown in the first quarter as both teams’ defenses stood tall. Ty Chmelik was able to find an opening though and ran in a 15-yard touchdown to put the Wildcats up 7-0.
In the second quarter, though it was the Lions who came storming back down the field to even up the score. Instead of kicking the PAT though the Lions went for two and they converted successfully to take an 8-7 lead early in the second quarter.
Shortly after a familiar face found their way to the endzone for the Wildcat to recapture the lead. Jerron Fisher found an opening in the defense and burst through for a 54yard rushing touchdown to put the Wildcats up 14-8.
Before the second quarter ended though the Lions scored once more and after a failed two-point try, the score was tied at 14-14 going into halftime.
Coming out of the half, it was the Lions’ game as they scored three touchdowns in the third quarter. While the offense scored, the defense slammed the door on the Wildcats as they were shutout for the rest of the game.
The Lions scored once more in the fourth to arrive at the final score of 41-14.
