On Dec. 4, from 1:30 to 8 p.m., Studio Texas presents a unique opportunity to delve into the heart of the world-renowned music institute with “The Secrets of Festival Hill.” This exclusive tour of the Round Top Festival Institute includes a special dinner at Duo’s Modern, offering attendees a rare glimpse behind the public art scene and into the artistic and cultural treasures of Round Top.
A Curated Journey
Attendees will enjoy a guided experience that reveals the scarcely told stories of the early days of the Round Top Festival Institute, a cultural landmark known for its dedication to musical excellence, extraordinary architecture and beautiful grounds. Lesser known are the art and document collections, historic buildings and personal stories of the team that saw the first stones laid, and the first stars carved over the past fifty years. This carefully crafted tour forms part of Studio Texas’ ART EXPERIENCE collector’s program, which invites both casual art enthusiasts and serious collectors to explore the lesser-known facets of art and culture.
Visitors will start the afternoon with a reception featuring light refreshments, followed by a tour through significant venues such as the Festival Concert Hall, the Edyth Bates Old Chapel, and Kaffe Kaffeine, among others. Each stop provides insight into the history, architecture, and this legendary cultural tourist destination in our backyard.
A Culinary Finale
Finish your evening with an unforgettable culinary experience and fellowship at Duo’s Modern for wine and a nine-course dining experience. This exquisite meal is designed to nourish both body and soul, allowing participants to engage in thoughtful conversations about art, culture, and the creative process. Importantly, all proceeds from the dinner and tour go to support Studio Texas, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting arts and artists.
Part of the Round Top Plein Air Festival The Art Experience is just one part of the broader Round Top Plein Air Festival, which includes a three-day plein air competition featuring 16 award-winning artists from across the nation. The festival highlights an array of events: the VIP Happy Hour, the Awards Ceremony and Sale, and the Quick Draw competition.
