SATURDAY, AUG. 16
At approximately 1:40 a.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to 4142 US Highway 90A, Altair, Texas in reference to a robbery. After further investigation, information was received in which a juvenile was processed for robbery - felony 2 innovating - class b misdemeanor. Case cleared by arrest.
MONDAY, AUG. 18
At approximately 7:50 a.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the interstate 10 eastbound rest area located in Glidden in reference to lost property. A report was completed.
At approximately 11:11 a.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to 1758 FM 2434, Weimar, in reference to an identity theft. A report was completed.
At approximately 12:22 p.m. deputy Cantu was dispatched to the 1500 block of Calhoun Road, Eagle Lake, regarding a disturbance. Information was received and concluding the investigation no charges will be filed.
TUESDAY, AUG. 19
At approximately 11:19 p.m. deputy Byars heard Columbus police transmit over the radio for an assault in progress at the Subway located in the 2500 block of State Highway 71, Columbus, Texas. After further investigation Jeffrey West, age 29, of Columbus, Texas was arrested for assault causing bodily injury family member - class a misdemeanor and terroristic threat of family / household member - class a misdemeanor. Case cleared by arrest.
At approximately 9:20 a.m. deputy Lopez arrived at Sun behavioral hospital to extradite an inmate back to our jail under a jail detainer. The inmate was then released to the jail staff without incident.
At approximately 11:55 a.m. a male subject came to the sheriff’s Office lobby reporting 40-50 people chasing him. It was determined that the male subject was experiencing a mental health crisis. The male subject was transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.
At approximately 5: 23 p.m. deputy Blaha was dispatched to a wrecked vehicle on Austin and Robson Street that occurred from a vehicle evading a Columbus police officer on a traffic stop. Blaha assisted with locating the subject and holding a perimeter.
At approximately 11:08 p.m. deputy Frey was dispatched to the 2000 block of Highway 71, Columbus, in reference to a structure fire. Upon further investigation and accidental electrical fire was the cause, no injuries occurred, and the apartment had minimal damage. Case closed by report.
Deputy Leihardt while working as a school resource officer at Weimar Independent School District deputy was informed of an ongoing civil issue involving a staff member and the staff member’s spouse. After further investigation a criminal trespass warning was issued to include all of WISD campuses in WISD athletic Fields. Case closed.
WEDNESDAY, AUG. 20
At approximately 8:30 p.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to a public service from Michael Hemphill regarding illegal dumping on his property near County Road 16. After further investigation, the case is pending until information is gathered.
THURSDAY, AUG. 21
At approximately 1:47 a.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to the 2100 block of Elsie Street in Rock Island in reference to a stolen vehicle. On arrival he met with a complainant and obtained information to conduct an investigation and generate a report. After further investigation, Carlos Paschall, 34, of Rock Island, was arrested for failure to identify give false/fictitious information, possession of a controlled substance penalty group 3, and warrant number 24-047. Case closed, adult arrest.
At approximately 4:07 p.m. deputy Lopez was dispatched to the Colorado County Jail to serve a warrant.
FRIDAY, AUG. 22
At approximately 2:38 p.m. deputy Byars was dispatched to the 500 block of S Austin Road in reference to an assault. Upon further investigation, enough information was gathered on scene to generate a report. Case cleared information only.
SATURDAY, AUG. 23
At approximately 10:24 p.m. deputy Frey while patrolling the area of Booth Drive in S Lake Ave, Eagle Lake, Texas, in his marked patrol unit he observed a red and color Ford mustang traveling westbound. He observed the vehicle speeding over the limit, his calibrated in-car radar registered the vehicle to be going 45 mph in a posted 30 mph zone. Upon conducting a traffic stop on the vehicle the driver was found to be a minor under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol minor. The driver was transported to the Colorado County Jail and booked in on the above charges.
SUNDAY, AUG. 24
At approximately 10:43 a.m. deputy Schoppe was dispatched to 1276 Ramsey Road in reference to an astray animal. A report was completed. The owner was located. The case is cleared.
MONDAY, AUG. 25
At approximately 10:07 a.m. deputy Blair was dispatched to 770 Heritage Lane, Eagle Lake, in reference to an assault that occurred in the 5300 block of US 90A, Eagle Lake, Texas. Case cleared by issuance of a citation.
At approximately 7:50 p.m. deputy Melendez came across a found property report that was taken in the 2000 block of Alleyton Road. Identifying information was located among the property and the owner was notified. The property was taken for safekeeping until the owner and reclaim it WEDNESDAY, AUG. 27
At approximately 8:33 p.m. an animal cruelty investigation was launched regarding livestock located at the 1000 block of G Miller Road. Case active.
Add approximately 8:41 p.m. deputy Frey was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a suicidal subject. Upon further investigation it was deemed necessary to have the subject screened by Texana. The subject was found to be a candidate for in-person treatment and was transported to a facility without further incident. Case closed by report.
THURSDAY, AUG. 28
At approximately 12:00 p.m. deputy Pavlicek conducted a warrant service at a residence in the 1100 block of County Road 216, Weimar, Texas. After further investigation, Terri Leigh Duque, age 23, of Columbus, Texas was arrested for an active felony warrant for hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon - felony 3. Case cleared by adult arrest.
FRIDAY, AUG. 29
At approximately 8:47 p.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to 2526 Interstate 10 in reference to the shots fired/ heard. A report was generated and information was gathered. Case cleared, information only.
SATURDAY, AUG. 30
At approximately 1:46 p.m. deputy Thomas was dispatched to the 4800 block of Interstate 10, Alleyton, for an unwanted subject. Upon further investigation the unwanted subject was placed into custody for trespassing and public intoxication. This case was closed by arrest.
At approximately 5:08 p.m. deputy Navarro was dispatched to a public service call at 1198 County Road 16, Altair, in reference to an illegal dumping near the property. Not enough information was gathered for prosecution. A report was generated, case pending.
At approximately 5:31 p.m. deputy Melendez was notified of a credit card abuse report that was taken from the 1200 block of Highway 98 in Sheridan, Texas. Information was gathered from the victim to generate this report.
At approximately 6:56 p.m. deputy Chapo was dispatched to the 4400 block of Highway 90, Alleyton, in reference to EMS requesting officers to make the scene. Upon arrival, it was determined that a hit and run had occurred, but due to a lack of information about the suspect’s vehicle, the case was cleared.
At approximately 11:38 p.m. deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 3800 block of Interstate 10, Columbus, at the KC Hall in reference to an assault. Upon further investigation, a juvenile of Eagle Lake, Texas, was processed for assault causing bodily injury - class a misdemeanor. Case cleared by juvenile arrest.
SUNDAY, AUG. 31
At approximately 9:46 a.m. deputy Thomas was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident located on FM 806 near Wray Ranch Road. A report was generated for information.
