The Rice Lady Raiders may not have had the season they wanted in 2025, but despite the season four Lady Raiders were chosen for All-District Honors.
The Lady Raiders had three of their senior leaders selected for All-District Honors with a junior claiming the final spot.
For the Second All-District team, two Lady Raiders were selected to be on the team, and they were Raelee Nelson and Breelyn Freeman. These two were inseparable both on and off the court as their friendship was on full display this season.
Their bond off the court led to some great on court chemistry, and they were the heartbeat of the Lady Raiders in some games. They were the most vocal on the court as well, constantly talking to their teammates to make sure they were all on the same page.
Many of their teammates looked up to them as leaders as well as their production on the court. They are two imposing pillars of the Lady Raiders volleyball program, and they made a lasting impression in their senior year by being named to the Second All-District team.
Next were the Honorable Mentions, and two more Lady Raiders were selected, and they were senior Ava Torres and junior Gourni Flowers. These two were truly great pieces for the Lady Raiders this season.
Both players contributed offense and defense this season, but they were also constantly diving all over the court to keep the point alive for their team. While Torres is a senior and her presence will be missed next year, In Flowers’ case she is just a junior, so the expectation is she will continue to get better and make a bid for the First or Second All-District team next season.
