The November Community Beautification Award was awarded to Dewberry Cafe at 1237 Bowie. The entrance always feels homey with pots of old timey plants like ferns with grasses, and often bright annuals. This month, a spectacular fall display was dreamed up by Robyn Adams (“Mimi” to owner Matti Sprague) after a trip to London where she saw elaborate garlands and displays around store entrances. The seasonal decor includes a scarecrow, aka Bridecrow, and an oversized arch framing the door created with silk flowers and leafy stems in autumn colors, baskets, gourds and pumpkins, and fun fall-themed. Congrats to Matti and Robyn, for the creativity and attention to detail that creates an especially welcoming entrance and for keeping potted plants and flowers year-round.
