The Columbus Food Pantry would like to thank the Methodist Healthcare Ministries Foundation ($5000), HEB ($3000), and the Knights of Columbus (12 frozen turkeys) for their generosity in funding the 2025 Holiday Turkey Drive.
The holiday distribution was held on Nov. 21, and the Columbus Food Pantry served 329 households/1059 individuals. Not only did the clients receive the opportunity to have a Thanksgiving Turkey, but extra groceries were distributed in response to the recent government closure.
“It was a BIG DAY for volunteers and clients alike. We had record breaking numbers both in clients served and the amount of food that was distributed per client. We would also like to thank our volunteers. We could not have done this distribution without them,” said Food Pantry President, Kelli Metzenthin.
