The Weimar Wildcats season may have ended earlier than they expected, but some of their players are still receiving recognition for their effort this season.
Making the All-District team is a big honor for these athletes because it shows that their hard work is not going unnoticed.
Making the First All-District team for the Wildcats was Jerron Fisher, and his versatility as a player is what landed him here. Fisher was a leader on the team and in Colorado County when it came to rushing yards and receiving yards for his offensive contributions.
He also lined up on defense and was one of the leaders on defense that helped lift the Wildcats to an 8-3 overall record and a 4-2 district record. On top of playing on both sides of the ball for the Wildcats, Fisher also punted the team, despite having several hats to wear. Fisher led this team in his senior season to earn a spot on the First All-District team.

Next was Sammy Hernandez who was selected to be on the Second All-District team for the 2025 season. Hernandez, much like Fisher, was used in different ways in the Wildcats line up this season. Hernandez was a receiver for the Wildcats and was often times he was quarterback Collin Morrison’s favorite target. Hernandez also lined up under center for the Wildcats and was also the kicker this season.
Hernandez ended up throwing a touchdown pass to Morrison and one point this season in a fun ironic twist with a receiver throwing the quarterback for a touchdown pass. Hernandez was also a very effective kicker for the Wildcats as he made over 90% of his PATs this season to earn a spot on the Second All-District team.
Then last but certainly not least was the Linemen of the Year award which was given to Nicolas Vasquez. The Wildcats used their rushing attack a lot on offense, and Vasquez was up to the challenge each and every game.
He opened up lanes for players like Fisher, Morrison, Hernandez, Mikael Shifatu and Ace Mesa to run through for big gains. Then on defense he was a major problem for opposing offensive lines as Vasquez’s strength was borderline unstoppable when he started to feel confident in a game, which was often.
His ability to make plays in the trenches on both sides of the ball was extremely valuable to the Wildcats this season. Which is what earned him the Lineman of the Year award.
