Eagle Lake Chamber names parade marshals

The Eagle Lake Chamber of Commerce is honored to present this year’s Christmas Parade Marshals, Stan in Frances Warfield.

Frances Sunderman Warfield was born here in Eagle Lake. She attended local schools, graduating from Eagle Lake high school in 1962, after receiving degrees from WCJC and Westmar College. Frances earned a Master’s of Education from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. Frances enjoyed many years of teaching on the elementary level.

Frances has been very active in the community since she returned home with her husband of 59 years Stan in tow, she is a current member and past President of the United Women in Faith, Frances is also a member and past President of the Eagle Lake Study Club, now known as Friends of the Library, She also volunteers at the Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, the Winterman library archive room and teaches Sunday School.

Stan was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and moved with Frances to Eagle in June of 2012, after retiring from 40 years of ministry with United Methodist Church in Oklahoma. Stan was elected justice of the peace for precinct 4 of Colorado County in January 2015 and was appointed. Municipal Judge for the city of Eagle Lake by Mayor Mary Parr.

He continues to serve in both Judicial roles and has filed for re-election as J.P Precinct 4. Stan has a long history of community involvement. He has volunteered with the Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry and served on the board of the Eagle Lake Chamber of Commerce. He has served as an announcer for Rice Raider football since 2012. Stan has been a member and a past President of the Friends of the Library. Currently, he serves as a chaplain for both the Garwood Volunteer Fire Department and the Colorado County EMS.

Frances and Stan are parents to Austin Warfield, Karen Davis, and Colin Warfield. They are also grandparents to Mitchell, Gunner, Wyatt, Ella and Hattie.

As you all can see, Stan and Frances’s dedication, leadership in service continue to make a meaningful impact in Eagle Lake, and we are so blessed to have them here.
