The Weimar Ladycats won two of their last three games as they sit with a current record of 7-1 to start the 2025 season.

They played the likes of Burnet, Caldwell and Little River Academy, picking up two wins and one loss in the process.

In their first game, the Ladycats had one of their biggest tests as Burent is a 4A school and is a very talented and competitive basketball team. The game went back and forth until the Ladycats started to pull away on the scoreboard late.

Offensively this was one of the Ladycats’ most efficient and effective games they played because it was the first time, they scored 60 points in a game. They moved the ball well and took advantage of easy points to help bring them to a victory.

On the defensive side of the ball the Ladycats struggled a bit as Burnet scored 58 points and had an effective night shooting the basketball as well. However, the Ladycats defense was able to do just enough to just barley edge out Burnet 60-58.

In their next game, the Ladycats took on the Caldwell Lady Hornets and once again they came away with a win. The Ladycats won this game with a score of 48-29 as they picked up their seventh win of the year.

In game two, the Ladycats offense continued to operate effectively and put points on the board early and often. Defensively though, it is where they shined in this game though as they bounced back in a big way.

After giving up 58 points to Burnet, the Ladycats came back in their next game and held the Lady Hornets to 29 points. The two sides of the ball had a very effective night and impacted the game in some way which led them to a Ladycats victory.

Then in their third and final game, the Ladycats fell to the Little River Academy for their first loss of the season. This loss stings because no one wants to see a winning streak end, but the Ladycats will learn a lot from this loss and come back even stronger in their next game.

The Ladycats are set to take on the Ganado Indianettes on Tuesday, Dec. 16, in Ganado with tip off set for 6:15 p.m.
