May you have the true Christmas spirit Every generation that we have read about or heard about has been going to the dogs and the opinions of the elders. We’ve heard, heard it said about the upcoming generation. And funny thing, it’s probably been true of every generation.

If so, it’s Christmas time and time to put on the brakes and take a few steps away from the dogs. It’s time. It’s time of giving and celebration, celebration of the birth of Christ, and everyone who has the Christmas spirit will have the Christmas spirit. If that Christian spirit prevailed the hearts of every member of the human race, even for this Christmas season, there would be no crime, officers duties would be nonexistent, and there would be no war, even in Korea. There would be no stripes, strikes, bickering and tolerance, and there would be no cases filed on any court records.

There is better than an even chance that this Christmas will not prevail. And even the majority of the hearts of men, we all can try to gain that Christian spirit, not for the good it will do for us individually, but for the good it will cause us to do for our friends, neighbors, and all mankind. That was the Spirit that was born in Bethlehem with the Christ child whose birthday we will celebrate next Monday.

American Enterprise ahead Some years ago, bids were solicited in England and in the United States were bridged across the Akabara River in Africa. In the competition, an American business house was successful largely because the Americans offered to complete and erect the bridge in three months, while the best offer made by any English firm stipulated that they would that would need twice that time.

Besides the commercial interests which the awarding of this great contract has everywhere attracted, there was an almost romantic aspect to the undertaking.
