The Citizen’s first Children’s Annual Coloring Contest showcases flashes of creativity

The First Children’s Annual Coloring Contest 2025 brought vibrant colors and big smiles to Colorado County! This fun-filled event ran for three weeks from Nov. 26 to Dec. 12 and collected 11 entries. Colorado County Habitat for Humanity, Columbus Wal-Mart, Mid Coast Title Company Inc, and M-G Inc. proudly sponsored the contest.

The contest was divided into three age groups: 6–7 years, 8–10 years and 11–12 years. Young artists from across the community showcased their creativity, and the entries were voted on The Colorado County Citizen Facebook page. The excitement grew as families and friends rallied to support these budding talents.

First and second place winners in each category received special prizes from The Colorado County Citizen. Congratulations to our talented winners! For 6–7 years: Unnamed from Columbus (1st place) and Bella Barten (2nd place). For 8–10 years: Lena Peikert (1st place) and Ava Vasquez (2nd place). For 11–12 years: Olivia Franco (1st place) and Olive Vasquez (2nd place). Your artwork truly brightened our community!

We are thrilled by the enthusiasm and creativity shown this year and look forward to making this contest an annual tradition. See you in 2026 for even more color and fun!
