The Weimar Wildcats district struggles continue as they drop back-to-back games to district opponents.

The Wildcats fell to a 0-5 record in district this season after losing to Flatonia 60-42 and Louise 71-30.

@ Flatonia, 60-42, L

In their first game, the Wildcats went on the road after a tough fought loss on their home court against the Shiner Comanches. They lost to Shiner by only four points and played a really strong game.

They had some confidence going into this game against Flatonia but ultimately could not get the job done. It’s not from lack of trying and this team leaves it all out on the court every game.

They just keep coming up short and having a hard time getting shots to fall on the offensive side of the ball. They rebound well and play a very strong and aggressive game that leads to turnovers, but their kryptonite is the offensive side of the ball.

Again, not from lack of trying as the rim has been cruel to these young men but they come out every game with some optimism that they are going to get their district win and to put Wildcat fans minds at ease, it’s coming.

This team is hungry and talented enough to turn things around and have plenty of games to find their offensive groove again to get back on track.

Vs Louise, 71-30, L

This was a tough game for the Wildcats where nothing wen their way getting every bad bounce in the book. These games happen and the best thing to do is to jump bury the game tape and put it in the rear view as fast as possible.

These types of games happen to even the best teams, and they do a good job of getting it out of their memory and focusing on the next game. That’s what the Wildcats have to do with this one.

Don’t dwell on it because as mentioned before they have the talent, they have the chemistry they have the coach, and they have the hunger to work their way back and get in the win column against a district opponent.

Yes, it is a little tough right now but looking at the body language on the bench they just have to keep playing their games and find a more consistent way to score, and the wins will come to the team in purple and gold.

Like the Weimar Ladycats, the Wildcats will be hitting the road Tuesday, Jan. 27, to take on Schulenburg where they will look to snag their first district win of the year.
