SAS SAINTLY NEWS

SAS SAINTLY NEWS
Six Saint athletes earned special awards for this year’s indoor soccer season.

Saints are recovering from a busy Catholic Schools Week amid the recent cold spells. Last week, faculty and families braved the bitter weather for the SAS Open House and other CSW events. But with the sun shining bright, and lots of physical activity, students stayed warm on Field Day. Awards were handed out for the various team events of CSW, and the team coming out on top overall was Mrs. Barten & Mrs Bohuslav’s team, consisting of the following students: Wyatt Pool, Devyn Krc, Brynn Pilat, Carson McRee, Clark Smith, Bertie K., Laurel Becerra, Rolando Gamez, Danica F., Jennings Rau, Cecilia Tait, and Kollyns Alexander. This winning team will have the honor of presenting all donated items to the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter.

This years’ SAS indoor soccer season was short but exciting. Standout players receiving awards for this season are, A Team: Clark Smith – MVP, Jase Brownlow – Fighting Heart, Genesis Trujillo – Most Improved. B Team: Patrick Smith – MVP, Darcy Sciba – Fighting Heart, Vance Joseph Cabrera – Most Improved.

Saints basketball wraps up their season tomorrow at Fayetteville. The A teams will play their final games at 5pm, while the B and C teams finished up last week. But the end of one sport leads to the beginning of another - track practices began this week.
