The Weimar Ladycats bounced back with a huge district win after losing their last district game to Flatonia.

The Ladycats took on Louise last Friday and came away with a huge district win to improve their record to 5-1 in district play.

This puts them in an excellent spot to make the playoffs and keeps them in second place in the district. This is important because it also keeps them on the mix to capture a district championship.

The Ladycats won the game against Louise with a score of 69-11, and they were as dominant as the score reflects. The Ladycats defense has not been talked about a whole lot this season, and they are a big reason why they are having a ton of success as a team.

The Ladycats defense has held teams under 20 points four times this season. That is an impressive feat considering how the game of basketball has slowly catered to the offense more and more each year.

The Ladycats are doing a good job of playing aggressively and fast defensively and forcing a ton of turnovers. The important part is, they are not fouling the other team.

They are playing fast and aggressive, but they are also playing clean and effective, and they are frustrating a ton of opposing offenses. Teams try many different things to try to score, and the Ladycats on defense always have an answer to shut them down and get the ball back in their hands and then they go to work on the offensive side.

Then once they get to the offensive side of the ball, the thing about the Ladycats is they are unselfish. They move the ball quickly and find open lanes for their players to drive through and put up a layup that finds the bottom of the net.

Or they find themselves alone in threepoint land, and they knock down their opportunities. That also frustrates opposing teams, and they end up fouling the Ladycats and like they do all game long, they take full advantage of their opportunities at the free throw line to help extend their lead.

All of these factors lead to a successful season so far for the Ladycats, and it is a big reason why they are in the race for a district championship going into the second half of their district schedule.

The Ladycats will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 6, when they go on the road to take on Schulenburg looking to stack more district wins.
