SAS student Kimber Nelson had a “ball” during last week’s field day activities.

Tomorrow, over 30 Saints in Grades 5-8 will head to Sacred Heart in Halletsville for their annual Academic Meet. Students will compete in the following events: Spelling, Science, Social Studies, Dictionary Skills, Written Math, Religion, and Number Sense.

Bless your heart! St. Valentine’s feast day is this Saturday, and his courage, compassion and dedication to Christ’s Church remind Catholics that true love reflects the love of God: being patient, kind, temperate, selfless and humble. While flowers and chocolate are wonderful to receive on Valentine’s Day, St. Valentine’s martyrdom teaches us that real love is sacrificial and inspired by Christ.

Speaking of love, we would LOVE to have you at SAS! Our registration is set to open to the public on March 16th. A “Come Grown With Us” Open House geared to Early Childhood students will be held on March 19 at 9 a.m. Please call the school office if you are interested in attending the open house.

Numerous SAS families and sponsors have put a lot of effort into this weekend’s upcoming PTC Gala in order to make it a special Valentine’s evening for all who attend. Thanks to all who have purchased tickets, donated toward the event, or are working behind the scenes to make it all happen! Your love for SAS is heartwarming!

Mark your calendars for the Ignatius Book Fair happening on Feb. 21-26 in the SAS Library. Ignatius Book Fairs offer books that shape character and deepen faith while aligning with Christian values. In addition to school hours, the Book Fair will be open in the SAS library on Saturday, Feb. 21 after Mass from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday Feb. 23, Wednesday, Feb. 25, and Thursday, Feb. 26 will have open hours after school until 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, the store will be open until 5:30 p.m.

Upcoming events: Sacred Heart Academic Meet, Feb. 12. SAS Gala on Feb. 14. School Holiday Feb. 16. Advisory Council Meeting on Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. Class Group Pictures on Feb. 19. All are welcome at Children’s Mass each Friday at 8:15 a.m.
