Dave Campbell’s Texas High School Football has released the new districts for the upcoming football season.
The Wildcats actually got really lucky in the re-districting because they only lost one opponent and will still be facing some familiar foes.
Last season, the Wildcats were in a district with Ganado, Kenedy, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Bloomington and Danbury. Last season in those six district games, the Wildcats posted a 4-2 record.
Their two losses were games against Ganado and Kenedy, both of which will remain in the Wildcats district for the 2026 season. The odd team out for the 2026 season will be the Schulenburg Shorthorns.
With the Shorthorns leaving the Wildcats gained another team to play in their district, and it is a very familiar foe. The Wildcats will be facing off against the Shiner Comanches in the 2026 season for district play.
The Wildcats usually end up playing Shiner across all sports but now it is going to mean just a little bit more when they face off in district games on the gridiron in 2026.
We have a long way to go before football season kicks off again but with their district opponents set the Wildcats coaching staff can start working on their game plan to go on another playoff run.
