The Weimar Wildcats picked up their third district win of the season after defeating the Flatonia Bulldogs.

The Wildcats won the game with a 67-38 score to keep them in fifth place and keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Wildcats started the game off hot on the offensive side of the ball and jumped out to an early lead. The game was tied at 2-2 for a brief moment in the 1st quarter, but then the Wildcats offense came to life.

They then went on a 7-0 run to extend their lead to 9-2 early in the game. They were able to do that because they heated up from 3-pt lad to give them a ton of points early.

They continued their offensive pressure, but they were also taking care of business on the defensive side of the court. They held the Bulldogs to only two points for the majority of the 1st quarter.

The Wildcats had several key plays, including steals that led directly to fast breaks and more points on the offensive end of the floor. Eventually though, the Bulldogs started to break through and scored some points.

They found themselves down by 10 points with a 3020 score, but then the Wildcats offense took over the game yet again. They went on a 12-6 run to go up 42-26 with a little over a minute left in the third quarter.

The Wildcats continued to score in the fourth quarter and finished the game with 67 total points while they limited the Bulldogs to 38 points. The Wildcats had a great night shooting the basketball to help lift them to a win.

They shot a field goal percentage of 45%, a threepoint percentage of 33% and a free throw percentage of 65% to seal their third district win of the year.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 17, when they go on the road to take on the Ganado Indians at 6:15 p.m.
