The Columbus Cardinals won the Bi-District Championship after winning their 13th district game of the year.

The Cards posted a 13-1 district record to win the District Championship and enter the playoffs as the number one seed.

Starting the game against the Industrial Cobras, the Cards started off a little bit slow as they were outscored 8-4 in the first quarter. This woke the Cards up though because in the second quarter the game came back with a vengeance.

They came back in the second quarter and scored 15 points to the Cobras eight points to carry a lead into halftime. Leading 19-16 at the break, the Cards knew the Cobras would make a push to start the second quarter, and they were ready for them.

The third quarter was a defensive battle with only 16 points being scored in the third quarter between the two teams. Thankfully the Cards were able to score nine of those points to the Cobras seven points.

This gave the Cards 28-23 lead going into the final quarter, and they needed one more solid quarter to win the District Championship. The Cobras scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as one final push to try and beat the Cards.

But the Cards scored nine points to just barely edge out the Cobras with a final score of 37-34 to win the District Championship. The Cards have officially won the district, but now they set their sights on an even bigger prize as they begin their playoff journey.

The Cards will start their playoff journey in the Bi-District round looking to add another championship to their list of accomplishments they have achieved this season.

Cards will be taking on Karnes City in the first round of the playoffs with the Bi-District Championship on the line looking to pick up their first win of the post-season.
