Free legal aid program scheduled for March 17

A free program providing legal information will be held at the Weimar Public Library at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 with snacks and drinks provided.

At this informational forum, The Friends of the Weimar Public Library, will present Michael Trefny and Kevin Hilmer providing legal information on estate, will and trust topics.

This program will give attendees specific information on estate planning, including wills, trusts, and gifts; inheritance rules in absence of a will; determination of heirship in absence of a will; probate of estates; powers of attorney for financial and medical decisions if a person becomes incapacitated; and Medicaid planning to qualify for Medicaid and preserve assets from Medical Recovery Claims.

Michael Trefny, a resident of Weimar, Texas, and his associate Kevin Hillmer will discuss informational considerations for those who are doing estate planning or wills.

Trefny and Hillmer have offices in Columbus. Trefny has 40 years of experience in the practice of law. His presentation will focus on general planning information.
