Hahn set to speak at banquet March 14

The Colorado County Wildlife Management Association’s (CCWMA) Banquet is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Columbus Hall in Columbus. There is no cost to attend. Meal tickets will be available for purchase for a barbecue meal at 6 p.m. with free soft drinks and beer while it lasts. This year’s speaker is Megan Hahn, Regional Health Specialist with the Texas Parks & Wildlife and will be providing an update on New World screwworms.

The CCWMA will have card raffles, bucket raffles, a buck scoring contest and of course the drawing for the big raffle. We will also have vendors with nice merchandise to look over and purchase. The 2025 Scholarship winners and the 2025 Whitetail Contest winners will be recognized.

Bring your WMA harvested buck mounts to be displayed and be eligible to win one of five $50 gift certificates. All bucks harvested on Colorado County W.M.A. property in 2025 are encouraged and over the past years are welcomed to be enjoyed by all. Make sure they can be hung for viewing. Also bring your game camera and regular photos for the Photo Contest.

All Wildlife Management Association members are encouraged to attend, and the general public is also invited to this family friendly event. Proceeds from the event go to help fund future scholarships and other charitable donations. To date, CCWMA has handed out over $176,000 in scholarships to local and/or CCWMA affiliated graduating seniors.
