The Rice Lady Raiders were handed a loss by the hands of industrial this past Tuesday with a score of 21-1.
Industrial needed only three innings to secure the victory over the Lady Raiders, and they scored early and often.
Industrial opened the game, scoring seven runs against the Lady Raiders to give themselves a comfortable 7-0 lead. The Lady Raiders responded with a single from Valerie Lugo to bring home the Lady Raiders only run of the game.
After this it was all Industrial as they came back in the second inning of the game and scored seven more runs to give themselves a 14-1 lead. Going into the bottom of the second, the Lady Raiders were looking to rally, but Industrial had other plans.
Industrial struck out the Lady Raiders leadoff batter and then walked the next two before backto- back strikeouts to end the inning. In the top of the third inning, Industrial’s offense was consistent and scored another seven runs to go up 21-1.
Then the Lady Raiders went back on offense with one final chance to get back into this game. Industrial secured outs on the Lady Raiders first three batters, though which ended the game with a final score of 21-1.
The Lady Raiders will look to clean their game up and come back stronger against Palacios on Friday, March 20, at 7 p.m.
