Sheriff’s Report

DEC. 23, 2025

At 2:30 pm Ofc. Salinas responded to the 1500 block of Montezuma St in reference to an escort.

At 3:39 pm Ofc. Avalos responded to the 1400 block of Crockett St in reference to a civil matter. Advice was given.

DEC. 24, 2025

At 1:11 am Ofc. Haman responded to the 1400 block of Montezuma St in reference to a civil matter. Advice was given.

At 6:45 am Sgt. Wilson responded to the 1300 block of Travis St in reference to a 911 hang-up. The officer arrived and learned it was accidental.

At 8:20 am Sgt. Wilson responded to the 200 block of Oak Cluster Dr in reference to an animal complaint. The animal was located and taken to the city pound.

At 6:13 pm Ofc. Pospisil responded to the 1400 block of Montezuma St in reference to a welfare concern. The subject was located and all was found to be in order.

At 7:19 pm Ofc. Pospisil responded to the 1400 block of Walnut St in reference to a possible theft. After further investigation, the subjects were located, issued a criminal trespass, and removed from the property.

At 11:00 pm Ofc. Haman responded to the 1300 block of Walnut St in reference to a vehicle accident. A crash report was completed.

DECEMBER 25, 2025 At 3:20 am Ofc. Haman responded to the 1300 block of Preston St in reference to a suspicious person. The subject was gone upon arrival.

At 8:59 pm Ofc. Haman responded to the 1600 block of Back St in reference to loud music. The music was located and turned down.

DEC. 26, 2025

At 10:00 am Sgt. Wilson responded to the 1600 block of Milam in reference to a welfare concern. The subject was not located.

At 11:00 am Sgt. Wilson responded to the 800 block of Jennifer Ln in reference to possible shots fired. After further investigation, all was found to be in order.

At 11:30 am Sgt. Wilson responded to the 1000 block of Houston St in reference to a 911 hang-up. The officer arrived and learned it was accidental.

At 12:15 pm Sgt. Wilson responded to the 2100 block of Milam St in reference to a welfare concern. The subject was located and all was found to be in order.

At 8:38 pm Ofc. Haman responded to the 2500 block of Hwy 71 in reference to a civil matter. Advice was given.

DEC. 27, 2025

At 4:33 am Ofc. Haman responded to the 2200 block of Hwy 71 in reference to a welfare concern. After further investigation, D’Montrell Carter of Columbus was arrested for Public Intoxication and was transported to the Colorado County Detention Center.

At 9:51 am Sgt. Neumann responded to the 2400 block of Hwy 71 in reference to a civil matter. Advice was given.

At 10:55 am Sgt. Neumann responded to the 1500 block of Montezuma St in reference to an escort.

At 4:04 pm Ofc. Haman responded to the 1500 block of Montezuma St in reference to an animal complaint. The animal was located and taken to the city pound.

At 6:27 pm Ofc. Haman responded to the 600 block of Spring St in reference to a civil matter. Advice was given.

At 8:12 pm Ofc. Avalos responded to the 500 block of Walnut St in reference to an animal complaint. The animal was located and taken to the city pound.

At 10:33 pm Ofc. Avalos responded to the 2200 block of Hwy 71 in reference to an alarm. The building was found secure.

DEC. 28, 2025

At 9:53 am Sgt. Neumann responded to the intersection of Walnut and Fannin in reference to a vehicle accident. A crash report was completed.

At 12:14 pm Sgt. Neumann responded to the 1500 block of Montezuma St in reference to a welfare concern. The subject was not located.

At 11:29 pm Ofc. Avalos responded to the 1200 block of Walnut St in reference to an alarm. The building was found secure.

DEC. 29, 2025

At 9:01 am Sgt. Neumann responded to the 600 block of Spring St in reference to Illegal parking. After further investigation, the vehicle was located and removed from the property.

At 10:04 am Sgt. Neumann responded to the 100 block of Shult Dr in reference to a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was located and all was found to be in order.

DEC. 30, 2025

At 12:25 am Ofc. Avalos responded to the 100 block of Shult Dr in response to possible threats. Information was received.

At 10:05 am Sgt. Neumann responded to the 2400 block of Hwy 71 in reference to a vehicle accident. A crash report was completed.

DEC. 31, 2025

At 12:28 am Ofc. Pospisil responded to the 700 block of Dewees St in reference to a suspicious person. The subject was located and all was found to be in order.

At 10:52 am Det. Kent responded to the 600 block of Milam St in reference to a welfare concern. After further investigation, A subject was found deceased, Justice of the peace Don Clark arrived on scene, determined the time of death, and ordered an autopsy.

At 8:44 pm Ofc. Haman responded to the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Street in reference to loud music. The music was located and turned down.

At 9:52 pm Ofc. Haman responded to the 100 block of Shult Dr in reference to a civil matter. Advice was given.

JAN. 1, 2026

At 12:48 am Ofc. Pospisil responded to the 1100 block of Walnut St in reference to loud music. The music was located and turned down.

At 4:37 am Ofc. Haman responded to the 1200 block of Live Oak St in reference to a suspicious person. The subject was located and all was found to be in order.

At 3:59 pm Ofc. Pospisil responded to the 900 block of Preston St in reference to a welfare concern. The subject was located and all was found to be in order.

At 5:08 pm Ofc. Pospisil conducted a traffic stop on the 100 block of Shult Dr in reference to a traffic violation. After further investigation, Felipe Ramirez of Columbus was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated third or more and was taken to the Colorado County Detention Center.

JAN. 2, 2026

At 9:15 am Sgt. Wilson responded to the 600 block of Spring St in reference to a possible theft. Information was received.

At 11:35 am Sgt. Wilson responded to the 1700 block of Milam St in reference to an escort.

At 1:55 pm Sgt. Wilson responded to the 2200 block of Hwy 71 in reference to a vehicle accident. A crash report was completed.

At 4:43 pm Ofc. Pospisil responded to the 1700 block of Hwy 71 in reference to a possible reckless driver. The vehicle was located and all was found to be in order.

At 7:14 pm Ofc. Pospisil responded to the 100 block of Railroad Ave in reference to a civil matter. Advice was given.
