The Second Annual Health & Wellness Fair will be held this Saturday, March 28, 9 a.m. to 12 noon on the Courthouse Square (Milam Street side). The Wellness Council will host an incredible 59 booths with a wide variety of medical, health, wellness and community agencies along with multiple nonprofits.
Tracy Lilie, Health Fair Chair and First Vice President of The Wellness Council states, “The 59 booths is an amazing response from service professionals, local agencies and organizations who want to reach out to our county’s citizens to increase their awareness of available local resources while at the same time providing free tests, assessments and screenings along with important health, program and services information.”
Medical Testing, Vitals & Screenings offered with a card to record and give you a record include Finger- stick Glucose checks, Total Cholesterol and A1C (measures glucose over past 2-3 months); Vitals — BP, Oxygen Sats, Height, Weight, BMI, and the Columbus Lions Club will have Eye Screenings for Children 6 yrs & under.

A Family Event — There will be multiple activities for kids of all ages including: Sack Races — The Boys & Girls Clubs; Birdhouse Building — Columbus Habitat; Group Art Project — Live Oak Art Center; and Face Painting — Eagle Lake Head Start. Plus, the Columbus Fire Department will have their ‘Kids Gear & Activities’, Firehouse Bean Bag Toss, Fire Hydrant Ring Toss and Tunnel Truck. Kids can enjoy talking with the Colorado County Sheriff Deputies and Columbus Police Officers as well as see a demonstration by our EMS Professionals.
Free Transportation by Colorado Valley Transit can be arranged by appointment only: Call 800548-1068 Ext 1 for pick-up and delivery to/from the Health Fair from anywhere in the county. However, on the Day of the Fair, call 713302-5331 to check on availability.
Concurrently taking place is the BIG Country Market on the Travis Street side of the Courthouse Square with its many vendors, year’s Health Fair. We hope the community is excited also and comes out to see what we have to offer … there is something for everyone!!”
