In preparation for Holy Week, Mrs. Hajovsky’s 4th graders spent some time with Mrs. Barten & Mrs. Bohuslav’s 3rd grade class to share their knowledge of the Paschal Mystery, the belief in Jesus’ Passion, death and resurrection. They also shared different symbols of the Stations of the Cross and their meanings with the class.
Tomorrow is Maundy Thursday, the day when Jesus celebrated his final Passover with his disciples, more commonly known as The Last Supper. And just as Jesus washed the feet of his followers on this day, so too will SAS students and staff show love for one another in a foot-washing service led by the 8th grade. St. Anthony School wishes everyone a very blessed and happy Easter.
SAS welcomed Mr. Blake Kridel, as a campus Watch D.O.G.S. volunteer last Friday. Mr. Kridel spent time assisting in classrooms, getting active in PE, joining students at lunchtime, and helping with the morning dropoff and afternoon pickup. St. Anthony School is fortunate to have so many dads willing to spend the day with our Saints!
Recent ly, the SAS Track team participated in the Fayetteville Track meet, earning the following awards: Bella Lowe – 1st long jump. Abby Fuller – 1st high jump, 2nd 100m, 4th shotput (school record of 29’1”). Abigail Wolters – 1st high jump, 1st 100m hurdles (school record of 18.99), 4th 100m. Carley Aaron – 2nd 2400m (school record of 11:02.69), 2nd 400m. Kate Crosby – 4th 1600m (school record of 7:16.19), 4th 400m. Braxton Blaschke – 5th discus (school record of 78’6”). Keaton Watkins also set a school record in discus with a throw of 39’9.5” The SAS girls’ team placed 3rd overall.
Tickets for the April 12 Crawfish/Shrimp Drive Thru will be available until April 8. Tickets can be purchased from any PTC family or at the school office.
