COLORADO COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT

On Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, at approximately 8:36 a.m., Deputy Lopez was dispatched to Lyle Road in Alleyton, Colorado County, Texas, in reference to illegal dumping.

On Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, Deputy Mican received information regarding property being a public nuisance in the 3900 block of Highway 90 in Columbus, Texas. It was determined the property met the criteria of a public nuisance. The case remains pending.

On Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at approximately 8:19 a.m., Deputy Navarro was dispatched to 2215 Walnut Street in Columbus, Colorado County, Texas, in reference to a burglary of a building. A report was generated. The case remains active.

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at approximately 8:45 a.m., Deputy Lopez was dispatched to 110 Shult Drive, Columbus, Colorado County, Texas, in reference to a death investigation/ inquest at Columbus Community Hospital.

On Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at approximately 9:14 a.m., Deputy Lopez was contacted by a concerned family member in reference to a family member being in crisis. The individual was later admitted to a psychiatric hospital for treatment.

On Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, at approximately 6:16 p.m., Deputy Byars was dispatched to the 1000 block of Calhoun Road in Eagle Lake, Texas, in reference to a family violence call. After further investigation, Morales was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member, a Class A misdemeanor. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, at approximately 11:47 p.m., Deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 2200 block of 6th Street in Rock Island, Texas, in reference to a disturbance. After investigation, Dominguez was arrested for assault by contact. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, at approximately 10:56 a.m., Deputy Navarro was dispatched to the 500 block of South Austin Road in Eagle Lake, Texas, in reference to an assault. Information was received and a report was generated. The case was cleared.

On Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, at approximately 12:10 a.m., Deputy Johnson was patrolling IH-10 near mile marker 696 in Columbus, Texas, when a traffic stop was initiated for speeding in a construction zone. After further investigation, Rodriguez was arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon and possession of marijuana under two ounces. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Deputy Navarro was dispatched to Happy Oaks, 4499 US-90 in Alleyton, Texas, in reference to a theft that occurred in Houston and was tracked to Colorado County. A report was generated for information purposes. The case was closed.

On Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at approximately 12:58 p.m., Deputy Randy Mican was dispatched to the 1400 block of Coxwell Road in Rock Island, Texas, in reference to a scam. The complainant stated she was the victim of a $6,000 scam and reported that other victims she knew may also have been affected. Information was received and an investigation into the scam was started. The case is pending.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at approximately 10:11 a.m., Deputy Robert Blair was dispatched to Heinsohn Store, 1560 FM 109 in New Ulm, Texas, in reference to a possible theft. A report was generated for information purposes. The case was cleared.

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at approximately 6:06 p.m., Deputy Nicholas Villarreal was dispatched to the 500 block of South Austin Road in Eagle Lake, Texas, in reference to an assault. The complainant was contacted and information was obtained to generate a report. The case remains active.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Deputy Corrina Navarro was dispatched to the I-10 westbound rest area in Columbus, Texas, in reference to a vehicle fire. The driver, David Sexton, 23, of Gonzales, Texas, was taken into custody for an out-of-county misdemeanor warrant. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at approximately 4:53 p.m., Deputy Erick Johnson was dispatched to the 1100 block of Connor Crossing Road in Columbus, Texas, in reference to the theft of cattle. After an investigation, a report was generated. The case is under investigation.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at approximately 5:29 p.m., Deputy Zane Blaha was dispatched to the 2300 block of SH 71 in Columbus, Texas, in reference to an individual experiencing a mental health crisis. The subject was evaluated and transported to a mental health facility. The case was closed.

On Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at approximately 5:24 a.m., Deputy Ryan Thomas was dispatched to FM 806 in Columbus, Texas, in reference to a subject trespassing. Investigation revealed Steven Earl Chapman, 55, of Schulenburg, Texas, was trespassing and he was arrested for criminal trespass. Additional charges included possession of a controlled substance PG 1 greater than four grams but less than 200 grams, prohibited substances and items in a correctional or civil facility, and a Grimes County warrant. The case was cleared by arrest.

On Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at approximately 12:10 p.m., Deputy Robert Blair was dispatched to Dollar General, 1409 US 90A in Sheridan, Texas, in reference to an unwanted subject. The case was cleared after the issuance of a criminal trespass warning.

On Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at approximately 9:16 p.m., Deputy Nicholas Villarreal was dispatched to the 4800 block of Cat Spring Road in Cat Spring, Texas, in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, the complainant was contacted and the case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at approximately 2:47 p.m., Deputy Benjamin Melendez conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of FM 102 in Eagle Lake, Texas. The driver, Cristian Roberto Alvarenga Carranza, 36, of Houston, Texas, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for assault – family member. He was taken into custody and transported to the Colorado County Jail without incident. The case was cleared by arrest.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Deputy Collin Byars conducted a traffic stop near SH 71 and Hildebrandt Road in Columbus, Texas, in reference to excessive speed. After further investigation, Ndiaye Serigne Dane, 25, of New York, New York, was arrested on a warrant for assault causing bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor. The case was cleared by arrest.

On Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at approximately 12:37 a.m., Deputy Benjamin Melendez was dispatched to the 200 block of Taylor Street in Glidden, Texas, in reference to an assault. The victim stated the suspect intentionally assaulted her causing pain and injury. The suspect was identified but had not yet been located. The case remains under investigation.

On Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at approximately 6:55 a.m., Deputy Robert Blair was dispatched to 3055 FM 1023 in Eagle Lake, Texas, in reference to an unwanted subject. After investigation, Carrie Cannon was arrested for public intoxication. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, at approximately 9:06 a.m., Deputy Corrina Navarro was dispatched to 1090 Oak Crest Drive in New Ulm, Texas, in reference to an assault. After further investigation, Gerald Harwell, 64, of New Ulm, Texas, was arrested for assault family violence — impeding breath or circulation (strangulation), a second-degree felony. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Deputy Jessie Lopez was dispatched to 3980 Highway 90-A in Garwood, Texas, in reference to a loose livestock call. A report was taken.

On Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at approximately 10:55 a.m., Deputy William Moulder was dispatched to the lobby of the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office in Columbus, Texas, in reference to a theft that occurred at the 1000 block of Sam Houston Street in Sheridan, Texas. Information was taken and a report was generated. The case remains active.

On Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at approximately 11:53 a.m., Deputy Andrew Lopez conducted a welfare check on a mental health patient in Eagle Lake, Texas. The patient appeared to be in crisis and requested to be evaluated by Texana. The patient was evaluated and released under a safety plan. The case was cleared.

On Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Deputy Frankie Cantu was dispatched to an RV park located in the 1600 block of County Road 253 in Weimar, Texas, in reference to a verbal disturbance. The disturbance was defused and the parties were separated. The case was cleared.

On Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, at approximately 11:20 a.m., Deputy Andrew Lopez was dispatched to Texana Clinic in Columbus, Texas, in reference to a disturbance. It was determined that an individual was in crisis. The individual was transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at approximately 10:55 a.m., Deputy Frankie Cantu was dispatched to 1073 County Road 204 in Weimar, Texas, in reference to property damage. A report was taken.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at approximately 11:42 a.m., Deputy Wyatt Schoppe was dispatched to Tractor Supply Company Feed Store, 4880 Interstate 10 in Alleyton, Texas, in reference to a theft. A report was completed.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at approximately 6:38 p.m., Deputy Michael Frey conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Old Alleyton Road in Alleyton, Texas, for a defective high-mounted rear light. The driver, Armando Lopez-Martinez of Eagle Lake, Texas, was found to have a warrant for arrest issued by the Arizona Department of Corrections for a parole violation. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Colorado County Jail and later released to jail staff without further incident. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

On Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at approximately 9:43 a.m., Deputy Wyatt Schoppe was dispatched to the area of County Road 151 and County Road 152 in Columbus, Texas, in reference to loose livestock. A report was taken and the cattle were transported to the Columbus Auction Barn.

On Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at approximately 11:08 p.m., Deputy Michael Frey was dispatched to 6659 SH 71 South in Garwood, Texas, in reference to a possible active trailer theft. Upon further investigation, no suspects were located in the area. The truck that was used to attempt to steal the trailer, as well as the trailer, were taken to Delgado’s yard and placed on an impound hold. The case remains active pending further investigation.
