The Rice Raiders’ soccer season has come to an end and with that comes All-District honors.
The Raiders made it back to the playoffs this season for the second year in a row and because of that 10 of their players were named to the All-District team.
Leading things off are the two players named to the 1st All-District team, and they were Agustus Peacock and Jael Valles Serrano. These two were the hearts and souls of this team this past season.
Peacock was one of the most consistent goalies in the district this season. He seemingly always came up with a big save whenever his team needed it and knew how to get the ball back out in the field for his team to go back to work offensively.
Valles Serrano was in the middle of every offensive play the Raiders had this season. He played at a high pace and was talented enough to get through multiple defenders at a time. He also had elite playmaking abilities and knew how to give his teammates perfect passes to boot into the back of the net.
On the 2nd All-District team there were two more Raiders named, and they were Lance Dingler and Payton Englebrecht. These two held down the field defensively; they did a great job of taking time and space away from opposing players.
They forced several turnovers this season that directly led to points for the Raiders, thus earning themselves a spot on the All-District team.
Last but not least were the Honorable mentions, and there were six Raiders named. Thise six were Bryan Guerrero, Victor Flores, Nicholas Ford, Kyler Cardial, Brandon Ayala and Luke Englebrecht.
These six played a very consistent game and did not make many mistakes. They did all the little things right, and even though they did not light up the score sheet, they all made a major impact on this team, and their playoff run this season.
The Raiders have a strong pipeline of talented players coming in 2027 and will look to push even deeper in the playoffs next season.
