With softball season well underway, let’s take a look at some Lady Cardinals that have left the nest to continue their athletic career at the college level. Karlee Mathis and Mia Post were a dynamic duo during their time at Columbus High School, and they are once again teammates at Concordia University. Mathis is currently in her sophomore season and is putting together a strong season stat wise. She has played in 27 games this season and is sporting a .289 batting average. She has hit five doubles so far this season and one home run. In the circle, Mathis has pitched 59 innings this season for Concordia posting a 7-2 record with one save and 17 strikeouts on the season. As for Post, she is enjoying her freshman season appearing in 23 games and recording a .308 batting average hitting three doubles. In the circle, Post has pitched 36.2 innings with a 6-1 record while recording 19 strikeouts. Needless to say, these Lady Cards are still flying high as they chase down their athletic dreams.
