The Weimar Ladycats were eliminated from the playoffs after being defeated by Woodsboro in the Bi-District round.

In a three-game series, the Ladycats lost game one and game two by one run to eliminate them.

Game 1: 6- 5, L

To start the game, the Ladycats found themselves in an early 2-0 hole but quickly responded. The Ladycats gave up two runs in the first inning but in the third came back with two runs of their own.

Back-to-back singles from Taitlyn Mican and Alazay Moreno brought home two runs to tie the game up at 2-2. Then the game went scoreless until the ninth inning of the game where both teams broke through offensively.

The Ladycats scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to give themselves a lead. The runs were scored thanks to singles from Paityn Hudec, Evani Nino and Moreno to drive home three runs and give the Ladycats a 5-2 lead.

Woodsboro came storming back in the bottom of the ninth inning and scored four runs to just barely edge the Ladycats out and win the game 6-5.

Game 2: 5- 4, L

In game two, the Ladycats gave up the first run of the game and found themselves trailing 1-0 after the first inning. In the second inning, the Ladycats tied the game up after Tyrianna Rhodes stole home to even the score at 1-1.

In the third inning, the Ladycats gave up three more runs to make the score 4-1 going into the bottom of the third inning. The Ladycats cut Woodsboro’s lead down by two runs thanks to back-to-back singles from Rhodes and Faith Cantwell to make the score 4-3.

Woodsboro scored once more in the top of the fourth inning followed by a run from the Ladycats in the bottom of the fifth inning thanks to another single from Rhodes to make the score 5-4.

This would be the final score of the game, and the Ladycats would be eliminated from the playoffs.

The Ladycats may have lost in the first round, but they have a new coach and a young team that will be back next season hungry for more.
