The Weimar Wildcats were eliminated from the playoffs after losing back-to-back games against Port Aransas last Thursday and Saturday night at Goliad High School.
It was a three-game series to decide who would move onto the next round of the playoffs, and unfortunately, the Wildcats were on the losing end of things.
In game one of the series, the Wildcats found themselves in a 2-0 hole going into the third inning. The Wildcats’ offense woke up in the third inning though, as they scored five runs to take the lead.
Leading 5-2, the Wildcats were feeling confident in their game and added one more run in the top of the sixth inning to take a 6-2 lead into the bottom of sixth.
Port Aransas came storming back in the bottom of the sixth thought. They score seven runs to retake the lead with a score of 9-6.
Port Aransas then scored four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to go up 13-6 and put a ton of pressure on the Wildcats. The Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but it was not enough to secure the win as Port Aransas took a 1-0 series lead.

In game two, the Wildcats opened the scoring when they scored one run in the bottom of the first inning. That lead did not last long as Port Aransas scored two runs to take a 2-1 lead going into the third inning.
In the third and fourth inning, the Wildcats scored one run and retook the lead with a score of 3-2. But these would be the last runs the Wildcats scored this season.
Port Aransas went on to score one run in the fifth and three runs in the sixth to arrive at the final score of 6-3 and capture the bi-district championship.
The Wildcats still have a ton to be proud of this season as they made a trip back to the playoffs. But they are hungry for more playoff action, and it will be one of their goals next seasons to make an even
