SAS has been humbled by numerous community blessings over the last week. SAS is extremely grateful for the $10,000 donation that Cadence Bank/ Huntington Bank generously presented to Principal Collins and Assistant Principal Cantu. Funds will be used toward replacing the cafeteria flooring.
St. Anthony School teachers and staff were treated like royalty during Teacher Appreciation Week. Snacks, teacher supplies, flowers, meals and Duck Derby entries filled the teacher lounge. Special thanks go out to Columbus State Bank, Denise Krc/Finance Home America, Leyco Real Estate, SAS PTC, and many student families for celebrating our teachers and staff.
SAS would also like to thank these local businesses and people for taking the time to participate in the annual Career Day held last Thursday: Chessdale Acres Apiaries (Bees), Columbus Volunteer Fire Dept., Columbus Physical Therapy, Leah Chatelain (Engineer), For the Birds Farms Dog Training, Texas Game Wardens, Colorado County EMS, and Columbus Animal Clinic. Students learned about the different aspects of each occupation and were able to ask questions at each station. Mr. & Mrs. Justin Crosby provided lunch for participants and SAS staff after the event.
More kudos go out to Columbus Medical Clinic physicians and staff to provide complimentary physicals for SAS Athletes this afternoon. Thank you for making sure our students can safely and actively participate in sports at SAS.
Last Friday, SAS hosted its Daddy/Daughter Dance with this year’s theme being “Let’s Luau!” The gym was full of pretty girls twirling and whirling, eating pizza and enjoying slushies with their fathers. The SAS Junior High students will hold their endof school dance on Tuesday, May 19 from 7-9 p.m.
