Sheriff’s Report
JAN. 23
At approximately 12:38 pm, Deputy Lopez conducted a welfare check on a resident in Eagle Lake Texas. It was determined that the resident was in crisis due to the victim mentally deteriorating. The patient was later transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.
At approximately 10:43 pm, Deputy Frey was dispatched to the 1000 block of bonfire, East Road, Cat Spring, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon further investigation, a stolen 2024 Polaris ranger 1000 side-by-side reported to the Austin county sheriffs office was recovered. The suspect had left the scene prior to law-enforcement arrival. The case is referred to the Austin county sheriffs office.
At approximately 1:27 pm, Deputy Chapa was dispatched to the area of Highway 71 E. and 71 business in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed. Case cleared, information only.
JAN. 25
At approximately 8:25 am, Deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 1500 block of Connor Avenue, Eagle Lake, in reference to an animal call. On arrival, enough information was gathered to generate a report. Case cleared, information only.
At approximately 9:35 am, Columbus Police Department and Sheriff’s office responded to an overdose that occurred in Columbus Texas. The patient was then taken to Colorado County hospital to be medically cleared due to the substance she took. It was later determined that the patient was to be admitted to a psychiatric facility for treatment. The patient was admitted to the facility without incident.
JAN. 27
At approximately 12:50 pm, Deputy Lopez was dispatched to the Texana clinic in reference to a mental transport. The patient was transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.
At approximately 3:46 pm, Deputy Lopez arrived at a residence in Garwood Texas in reference to a wanted person. James Patrick Johnson was taken into custody for MTA-probation, violation warrant for injury child/elderly/disabled with intent bodily injury.
At approximately 3:53 pm, Deputy Leihardt arrived at 408 Lester St. in Weimar, Texas to attempt a warrant service. Dayton, Wade Milner was subsequently arrested for MTA/MTR assault causing bodily injury family violence (violation of probation). Case closed by adult arrest.
JAN. 28
At approximately 7:26 am, Deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 200 block of Arthur St., Garwood, in reference to a stolen vehicle. Information was gathered to generate this report. The property was later recovered and returned to the owner. The case will be inactive until further information is developed to identify the suspects involved.
At approximately 7:46 am, Deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 3000 block of FM 333, Garwood, Texas, in reference to a stolen vehicle. Information was gathered to generate a report. The property was later returned and recovered to the owner. The case will be inactive until further information is developed to identify the suspects involved.
At approximately 7:43 am, Deputy Moulder was dispatched to the Rice Medical Center in reference to an assault that occurred at the 2600 block of FM 3013, Eagle, Lake, Texas. A report was taken and a warrant was issued. Duncan Kent, 44, of Eagle Lake, was arrested for assault int/reck breath/circ fam member. Case cleared by adult arrest.
At approximately 9:18 am, Deputy Blair was dispatched to the 3500 block of FM 1693 in Garwood, in reference to a theft. Information was gathered to conduct an investigation. The property was later recovered and returned to the owner. The case will be inactive until further information is developed to identify the suspect involved.
JAN. 29
At approximately 9:15 am, Deputy Lopez was requested to assist the Eagle Lake Police Department in reference to a mental subject in crisis. The patient was admitted to a psychiatric facility for treatment. The patient was also given a criminal trespass warning for them not to go to Taco Tony’s restaurant.
At approximately 8:52 pm, Deputy Villarreal conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of JT Powell Road in Sheridan, Texas. After further investigation, the vehicle that was observed on a public roadway was towed due to having no insurance and the plate on the vehicle, not being associated with the vehicle.
JAN. 30
At approximately 9:34 am, Deputy Lopez arrived at the Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 office in reference to an MHMR warrant. The warrant was issued on an individual who was deemed to be a danger to themselves. The person was then later admitted to a psychiatric facility for treatment.
Add approximately 10:11 am, Deputy Blair was dispatched to make public service with a victim in reference to fraud. Case pending.
At approximately 10:31 am, Deputy Blair was dispatched to the Colorado County Sheriff’s office lobby in reference to a victim wanting to file a forgery incident. Case pending.
At approximately 11:26 pm, an agency assist call was dispatched out of a pursuit coming into Colorado county from Austin County. After further investigation, enough information was gathered on scene to generate a report. Case cleared, information only.
At approximately 12:29 am, Deputy Johnson was dispatched to the 1000 block of County Road 109, Garwood, in reference to a fire call. GVFD arrived on scene and extinguished the fire. The case is for information only.
