CORRECTION

Last week’s election story titled “Johnson takes Eagle Lake mayor / Local election polls see low turnout” incorrectly labeled Anthony Johnson as Eagle Lake’s first Black mayor. Johnson is not Eagle Lake’s first Black mayor, but he is Eagle Lake’s first Black male mayor. According to the Eagle Lake Headlight, René Cooper- Scott, a woman, was elected as Eagle Lake’s first Black mayor in May 2002.
