After leaving Rice Consolidated High School, RJ Myers made his way to the University of Texas-Tyler where he continued his track and field career. In his freshman year, Myers competed in 10 meets for UT-Tyler. In those meets, Myers finished in the top five, and in two of those meets where he set a new personal record in the shot-put event, throwing a distance of 16.30m (which is 49’1.5 feet). He will look to build on this strong freshman-year campaign as he looks to get back to winning championships like he did at Rice Consolidated High School. Courtesy photo
