Officials honor fallen in Peace Officers Memorial Day ceremony

Colorado County law enforcement from numerous agencies gathered for a short honorary ceremony for Peace Officers Memorial Day, Tuesday, May 12, at the Colorado County Courthouse. After the presentation of colors, Colorado County Judge Ty Prause gave a few remarks, and pastor Victor Morrison of First Baptist Church prayed. Law enforcement leaders then read out a list of names of those who have fallen in the line of duty.

Colorado County Constable Precinct 3 Ivan Menke, Columbus Police Chief Chris Mayfield, Eagle Lake Police Chief Donald Chaney and Colorado County Sheriff Justin Lindemann read off the names of men fallen in the line of service from their jurisdictions during the Colorado County Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony, Tuesday, May 12, at the Colorado County Courthouse.
