Congratulations to this year’s SAS eighth grade graduates. The following students will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 20, at a Graduation Mass. Braxton Blaschke, Mia Brown, Sophia Fernandez, Abigail Fuller, Kaden Glueck, Owen Henneke, Isabella Lowe, Charley Mc Bride, Wyatt Pool, Taylor Radley, Isabella Rutiaga, Mitchell Smith, Matthias Walla, Keaton Watkins, and Abigail Wolters.
As the tennis season ended, four Saints earned special awards: Isabella Lowe (Top Singles Player), Taitlyn Beauchamp and Samuel Gonzales (Top Duo), Greyson Glueck (Most Improved), and Brady Venghaus (Fighting Heart Award). April’s Athletes of the Month were Hayes Lively, Taitlyn Beauchamp, and Raelynn Schulte.
Catholic Daughters Court Mary Queen of the Snows announced their Essay and Art Contest winners from SAS: Essay Division I – Olivia Lowe (first), Anna Kridel (second), Nathan Decker & Bertie Katz (third). Essay Division II – Isabella Lowe (first), Madeline Decker (second), Eli Walla (third). Computer Art Division II – Kendal Winkenwerder (first), Nataly Ulloa (second), Devyn Krc (third).
Congratulations to fourth graders Addie Werland (first place), Laney Glueck (second place) and Caroline Schobel (third place) for their winning entries in the Dilue Rose Harris Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas’ Annual Art Contest. Also, a big high five to sixth grader Michael Smith for his winning entry in the Navidad Cattlewomen’s Father’s Day Essay contest.
Speaking of fathers, SAS dads Dr. Robert Katz, Justin Crosby, and grandfather Rob Kleimann recently volunteered as Watch D.O.G.S., spending the day helping in class, participating in PE, having fun at recess and assisting at dropoff and pickup.
SAS Summer Camps have been set for June 29-July 1 and are open to all kids in grades kinder-8th. Campers can sign up for cooking, football, volleyball or children’s literacy camps. Check the social media pages to register by the end of May via QR code or call the school office for more information.
St. Anthony Church will host Vacation Bible School on June 15-19 from 8:45 a.m.-noon each day. To sign up your child (ages 4-12) please stop by the church office for a registration form.
Summertime is here. This school year has come to a close, and SAS students will be released tomorrow at noon for summer vacation. The school office will have the following summer hours: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. School will start next fall on Aug. 11.
