RICE SENIOR COMMITS TO PLAY COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Avan Woolridge is a Rice Consolidated High School senior that will be graduating this Thursday, May 28, at 8 p.m. After graduation, he will be packing his bags and heading to Blinn College to continue his basketball career at the college level. After attending a couple of tryouts and scrimmages, Woolridge earned his way onto the team May 18 after receiving a call notifying him that Blinn wanted him on the team. Woolridge has a great skillset and an incredible work ethic, and he will utilize both in his redshirt freshman season at Blinn College where he will have an opportunity to hone his skills before testing the waters for a job in the rotation next season.
