Rice High School students recently traveled to Greece on an educational tour organized by history teacher Steve Melton, giving them the opportunity to experience some of the world’s most significant historical sites firsthand.
During the trip, students visited landmarks including the Acropolis, Parthenon, Delphi, Cape Sounion, the Temple of Poseidon and the Peloponnesus region. The group also toured Panathenaic Stadium, site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, where track athlete Fallan Wied had the unique opportunity to run a mile on the historic track. The trip provided students with an immersive look at the history, culture and geography of ancient Greece.
