Weimar reports early improvements in water quality program

The City of Weimar is reporting early success from a new water quality improvement program aimed at reducing customer complaints and improving system performance.

According to city officials, Weimar partnered with E3 Entegral Solutions earlier this year to implement the BiCARBUS water treatment system. The program is designed to improve disinfection throughout the city’s water distribution system and remove mineral buildup that can affect water quality.

Public Works Manager Michael Beyette said the city has seen a significant decrease in water- quality complaints since the program began approximately six weeks ago.

Historically, the city averaged about five customer complaints per week related to water qual ity. Since implementing the program, the city has received only one complaint, which occurred during a scheduled system flush.

“This has been a noticeable improvement for both our customers and our operations team,” Beyette said. “The reduction in complaint calls and required flushing has significantly lowered the demand on our staff.”

City off icials said the program remains in its initial phase as the treatment works to remove accumulated mineral deposits and improve overall system performance.
