The Colorado County Fair Association is now accepting entries for its 2026 Fair Queen contests, scheduled for Sept. 5 at the Colorado County Fairgrounds.
Contest organizers encourage both experienced pageant participants and first-time contestants to apply.
The Queen contest is open to girls ages 15-18, while the Jr. Queen contest is open to girls ages 11-14.
Registration and contest information are available through Colorado County Fair Queen Coordinator Christy Alonso at 979-942-0902 or Shannon Gerik at 979-732-0865.
A mandatory meeting for Queen and Jr. Queen contestants and a parent or guardian will be held June 28 at 6 p.m. on the courthouse lawn in Columbus.
Additional contests include:
• Little Miss and Little Mr. (ages 5-7 as of Sept. 1)
• Jr. Miss (ages 8-10 as of Sept. 1) The registration deadline for the Little Miss, Little Mr. and Jr. Miss contests is Aug. 27 at 4:30 p.m. Little Miss and Little Mr. activities will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Jr. Miss contest at 6 p.m.
The deadline to enter the Queen and Jr. Queen contests is June 28.
