Colorado County Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications for its Critical Home Repairs program, which helps eligible homeowners complete repairs that improve the safety, accessibility and livability of their homes.
The program is available to homeowners who are at least 60 years old or have a disability. Applicants must own and live in the home as their primary residence, be current on property taxes, mortgages and other financial obligations, and meet U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) area median income guidelines.
Eligible repairs may include accessibility modi fications, plumbing, electrical work, roofing, heating and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs, and foundation work.
Habitat for Humanity noted that the program is not intended for emergency repairs, and projects typically take several months to complete.
