AUSTIN — Colorado County and its cities received higher sales tax allocations in June, with the county posting a nearly 22% increase over the same period last year, according to figures released last week by Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock.
Texas cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts received $1.3 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, 7.4% more than in June 2025.
These allocations are based on sales made in April by businesses that report tax monthly.
For this period, Colorado County received a net payment of $219,393.21, 21.95% higher than the June 2025 payment of $179,890.58.
The year-to-date amount received by the county is $1,270,921.43.
Following is a breakdown of payments by city:
Columbus
The City of Columbus received a net payment of $170,611.24 this period, a 4.87% increase from the June 2025 payment of $162,686.52. So far this year, Columbus has received $1,009,679.37 in sales tax revenue. This is about a 1.6% decrease from the YTD amount of $1,026,377.53 this time last year.
Eagle Lake
The City of Eagle Lake received a net payment of $33,636.90, which is a 7.99% increase from the June 2025 payment of $31,146.61.
The YTD payment for Eagle Lake is $209,822.89, less than a percent lower than the June 2025 YTD amount of $211,504.58.
Weimar
Weimar received $94,061.82 in sales tax revenue in June. This is 25.79% higher than the June 2025 payment of $74,772.50. The YTD amount for Weimar is $464,898.83, 7 percent higher than the 2025 YTD amount of $434,379.67.
