SHERIDAN — Children participating in the Sheridan Memorial Public Library Summer Reading Program recently had the opportunity to learn about law enforcement during a visit from members of the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, Tuesday, June 30.
Captain Wendy Alley and Deputy Nancy Gorman read to the children before giving them a tour of a patrol vehicle and answering questions about their work in law enforcement.
The visit allowed children to get an up-close look at the patrol vehicle while learning about the responsibilities of sheriff’s deputies and the role they play in serving the community.
The Sheriff’s Office said it values opportunities to connect with young residents through educational and community outreach programs.
