The Columbus Education Foundation awarded eight 2026 Columbus High School seniors with scholarships for attending college. The recipients are Will Chavez, Emerson Glueck, Liam Halcom, Shelby Johnson, Estrella Lopez, Julissa Martinez, Cooper Osborne and Gracie Schobel.
“These graduates have demonstrated dedication, hard work, and a commitment to their future,” CEF said in the announcement post. “As they head to colleges and universities this fall, we’re honored to invest in their continued education and future success.”
CEF also awarded five young women the Leftwich Family Mental Health/Healthcare/Trade School Scholarship. Those recipients are Angelina Castillo, Micah Elhert, Jada Espitia, Vanessa Palomares and Ava Weidemann.
“These outstanding young women are all planning to continue their education in the mental health, healthcare, or skilled trade fields,” CEF said. “We are proud to support their educational journeys and look forward to the positive impact they will make in their communities.”
This year, CEF awarded a record-breaking 42 scholarships totaling $150,500.
