COLORADO COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT

Sheriff’s Report

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1

At approximately 7:43 a.m., deputy Wiese received a text message from the principal of Rice Junior High, Dr. Andrew DeWalt. Dr. DeWalt asked if he could come to his campus. Upon arrival, DeWalt advised him that one of the students, identified as Davian Shropshire, made a threat towards him and asked if Wiese could take him home. See report.

At approximately 5:00 p.m., deputy Smith was dispatched to the 1300 block of Old Altair Road in Eagle Lake in reference to a mental subject. On arrival, he met with the mental subject and obtained information from them. After investigation, the mental subject was then transported to Sun Behavior in Houston, Tx. Case cleared.

THURSDAY, APRIL 2

At approximately 10:51 a.m., deputy Lopez was dispatched to Hwy 90A and Ramsey Road, Eagle Lake, in reference to loose livestock.

At approximately 10:00 a.m., deputy Blair completed an accident report for Colorado County Deputy Machac who was involved in a motor vehicle accident with a deer. Case cleared, information only.

At approximately 6:17 a.m., deputy Machac responded to the 1000 block of Richter Road in reference to a theft.

At approximately 5:48 p.m., deputy Byars was dispatched to an estray animal call located in the blk of 1500 Oakridge Road, Weimar, Tx. A report was taken, with the cattle removed from the property and taken to Columbus Livestock Auction to be held and locate the cattle owner.

FRIDAY, APRIL 3

At approximately 4:18 a.m., deputy Smith was dispatched to IH-10 Westbound mile marker 705 in reference to a disabled vehicle. This vehicle was abandoned in the main lanes of IH-10 with no individuals in or around the vehicle. A report was generated with the vehicle removed by Delgado’s. Case closed.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to a public service in reference to an animal bite call that happened at the 2100 block of SH-71 W in Columbus, Tx. After an investigation, a report was taken.

At approximately 9:32 p.m., deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the 4500 block of U.S. 90, Alleyton, in reference to a disturbance. Criminal trespass warnings were issued and a report was completed.

SATURDAY, APRIL 4

At approximately 8:29 a.m., deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 1000 block of Mentz Road, Alleyton, in reference to a suspicious person. After further investigation, Taylor-Aaron Oquinn White, age 40, from Bonham, Tx, was arrested on a warrant issued out of Fayette County. Case cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 11:07 a.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the 1400 block of FM 2437, Sheridan, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon further investigation, a report was taken, and information was passed to fellow deputies. Case closed by report. Information only.

At approximately 8:00 p.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to the 200 block of Arthus Street, Garwood, in reference to a disturbance call. After an investigation a report was taken.

SUNDAY, APRIL 5

At approximately 10:39 a.m., deputy Chapa was dispatched to a public service regarding a protective order violation in the 4300 block of Cat Spring Road, Cat Spring, Tx. Enough information was gathered to generate a report. Case active.

At approximately 1:55 p.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the 1600 block of Kallus Beyer Road, Columbus, in reference to a theft. Upon further investigation, multiple items were stolen, a report was generated and the case is open pending further investigation.

MONDAY, APRIL 6

At approximately 11:26 a.m., deputy Lopez was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office lobby in reference to a wanted subject turning himself in. Terrance Malik Thomas was taken into custody for Capia-FTA for possession of marijuana <2oz.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., deputy Machac responded to a structure fire in the 1000 block of Shady Oak Lane.

At approximately 1:32 p.m., deputy Lopez was dispatched to the 1400 block of A Braden Road, Cat Spring, in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Case cleared information only.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., deputy Machac responded to the intersection of FM 1693 and CR 116 in reference to a vehicle fire.

At approximately 4:17 p.m., deputy Pavlicek conducted a traffic stop on State Hwy 71 E on the business Hwy 71 exit ramp. After further investigation, a handgun was seized from Robert Molina, age 38, of Columbus, Tx. Case cleared by report.

TUESDAY, APRIL 7

Captain Alley took a report on an agency assist with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 9:12 p.m., deputy Machac was dispatched to the 6700 block of US Highway 90 in reference to a theft.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8

At approximately 2:00 a.m., deputy Smith conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Highway 90 in Columbus. After further investigation, the driver, Promize Yates, age 20, of San Antonio, was arrested for possession of marijuana along with an out-of-county misdemeanor warrant. The case was cleared by adult arrest.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., deputy Smith was notified by the Jail Captain that there had been damage in the cell blocks. Smith conducted an investigation, and a warrant was issued and served for criminal mischief - class A.

At approximately 2:34 p.m., deputy Donnie Templeton was dispatched to the Texana clinic in reference to a mental health transport. The patient was transported to a psychiatric facility for treatment.

At approximately 11:29 p.m., deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the 2900 block of Highway 90, Weimar, in reference to a disturbance. A criminal trespass warning was issued and a report was completed.

THURSDAY, APRIL 9

At approximately 8:35 a.m., deputy Gorman was dispatched to an unwanted subject in the area of the 1000 block of Jennifer Lane, Columbus, Tx. After further investigation a subject was issued a criminal trespass warning.

At approximately 1:44 p.m., deputy Frey was dispatched to the 2200 block of Walnut Street, Columbus, in reference to a stolen vehicle. Upon further investigation, a report was generated, and the case will remain open pending the issuance of a warrant for arrest. Case open pending further investigation.

At approximately 12:51 a.m., deputy Johnson was dispatched to the 4800 block of Cat Spring Road in reference to an assault. After an investigation, a report was taken. Carissa Brown, age 46, of Cat Spring, was arrested on assault causing bodily injury to a family member. Case cleared by adult arrest.

FRIDAY, APRIL 10

At approximately 7:48 a.m., deputy Lopez was dispatched to the 1500 block of Reese Lane, Columbus, in reference to a medical emergency.

At approximately 6:03 p.m., deputy Navarro was dispatched to 1222 Kveton Road, Cat Spring, in reference to property damage to a mailbox. A report was generated for information purposes only.
