Dear Editor:
I am writing to bring attention to an issue that affects a wide range of Eagle Lake residents — our workers, seniors, students, families, and anyone who relies on transportation to move through daily life.
Colorado Valley Transit already has a LOOP route mapped for Eagle Lake. The stops exist, the route exists, and the system exists. However, the service was shut down, and the stops have not been updated in years. Our community is feeling the impact of this loss every single day.
The reality is simple: Not everyone has a car. Not everyone has a valid license. Not everyone can afford rising gas prices. Not everyone can schedule a ride 24 hours in advance.
But everyone can show up at a stop at a set time.
A restored fixed-route LOOP service would give Eagle Lake predictable transportation — something our residents desperately need. Reliable transit means more people have opportunities to get jobs, medical appointments, and businesses.
This is not just about transportation. It is about economic growth, workforce stability, and community mobility.
I am currently working with local leaders, businesses, and organizations to request that Colorado Valley Transit restore the LOOP route and repair the stops we already have. But community voices matter, and we need residents to be aware, engaged, and vocal in their support.
Let’s make Eagle Lake easier to live in, easier to work in, and easier to grow in. We deserve this — and together, we can bring it back.
Sincerely, Jeremiah Paige Eagle Lake
