COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Fair Association is looking for volunteers and barbecue judges as preparations continue for the 2026 Colorado County Fair.
Food enthusiasts are invited to serve as judges for this year’s barbecue cook-off. Categories include Bloody Marys, beans, chicken, ribs and brisket. No prior judging experience is required, and organizers will provide a brief orientation before the competition.
The fair is also seeking volunteers to assist with a variety of duties throughout the three-day event, including staffing admission gates, ticket booths and the beer stand. Organizers say whether volunteers can give a few hours or the entire weekend, every helping hand is appreciated.
The Colorado County Fair will be held Sept. 1012 at the Colorado County Fairgrounds, 1146 Crossroads Blvd. in Columbus.
